We are excited to announce the collaboration between NetApp and Pegasystems to provide tailored support packages for Pega customers utilizing the open source technologies required to run the Pega Platform.
Following recent changes to the Pega Platform, customers will become responsible for managing their own open source external services (Apache Kafka®, Apache Cassandra® and OpenSearch®). Instaclustr by NetApp brings a wealth of experience and expertise in these open source technologies, and the Pega team has relied on Instaclustr to support these technologies for many years.
Beginning with Pega Platform v8.4 or Pega Platform ‘23, Pegasystems have made the architectural decision to transition external deployments of Apache Cassandra and Apache Kafka to support the platform; in subsequent minor versions this will be extended to include OpenSearch.
These technologies are required to run the Pega Platform and moving to an external microservices architecture delivers improvements in performance, scalability and maintainability.
Since 2020, Instaclustr has been providing support to Pegasystems by managing the underlying open source technologies necessary for Pega Cloud. Instaclustr’s Technical Operations teams possess extensive experience in running, operating and supporting the open source software essential for the Pega Platform. It was a natural progression to establish a partnership and extend these services to self-managed Pega customers.
With Instaclustr’s support, Pega customers who manage their own environments gain access to round-the-clock assistance and direct communication with experts possessing deep technical knowledge. We understand the intricacies of the required technologies and are well-equipped to provide the necessary guidance and support to ensure smooth operations and optimal performance.
“Pegasystems and Instaclustr have formed a collaborative partnership in the ever-evolving tech industry. Pega leverages Instaclustr’s technical expertise in the open source services space to enhance its offerings. Using our partnership, we are revolutionizing industry norms by combining innovative solutions and advanced technology to deliver a superior offering for our clients.”

This comprehensive solution enables customers to leverage the expertise and support of Instaclustr while managing their Pega Platform deployments on their chosen cloud provider.
- On-Premise Managed Platform: For customers who prefer to host their environments on-premises, the On-Premise Managed Platform option offers all the benefits of the Instaclustr Managed Platform. This means customers can enjoy the same level of support, reliability, and expertise while having their platform hosted within their own on-premises environment.
